What is with the Name?

I originally got the name from a couple of years before trying to start the business. I wanted to start a youtube channel where I refinished furniture by hand. The channel never got off the ground, though the name always stuck with me. It felt like it represented my nature, fun and a little silly.

The charpente part came later. My family originally came to America centuries ago from France. I wanted to add something on that make paid homage to that origin and also reminded of what I am trying to do. Charpente is french for frame or framework. I believe that solid beautiful pieces are the framework to getting to a more sustainable future and way of buying things.

So MapletheMan Charpente was started in 2025.

About MapletheMan Charpente

Crafted with Heart and Integrity

At MapletheMan Charpente, every line on a piece of furniture tells a story — a story rooted in craftsmanship, sustainability, and a genuine love for creating beautiful, lasting pieces. What began as a hobby, sparked by the simple joy of making a chess set for a friend, has grown into a woodworking business dedicated to providing high-quality, handmade furniture that families can cherish for years.

After years of working office jobs, I knew I needed a change. Armed with an MBA from Colorado State University and an a passion for working with my hands, I turned to woodworking as the natural path forward.

What Motivates Me?

At the core of my business are three guiding principles: Fairness, Integrity, and Simplicity. I believe in being transparent with my customers about everything from the work process to pricing and sourcing. Each piece is thoughtfully designed, made with durable materials, and built to last — because I want you to enjoy your furniture for generations, not just years.

Sustainability is important to me. I like many others got tired of buying items at big box stores that were cheaply made and only lasted a few years or a few moves. None of them felt like they were made for me, just made cheap. I want my products to last. I’m committed to supporting local businesses and helping to support sustainable forestry practices. The products I create reflect my values and the pride I take in my craft.

What do I make?

Currently I am making children’s furniture, custom small outdoor pieces, and other made-to-order projects. I work to find the the design that I will love making and you will love owning. I strive to work with natural stain colors from berries, coffee, spices and other sources. If we can’t find a color that you love we can work with conventional stains as well.

Why Choose MapletheMan Charpente?

What sets my work apart is the commitment to quality. Every piece is handcrafted with attention to detail, and I prioritize quality over quantity. I’m not mass-producing furniture — I’m making every piece with care, pieces that highlight both desire to make something beautiful but also shows my years of correcting mistakes.

Whether you're a parent looking for the perfect heirloom piece or a homeowner seeking a unique custom creation, I’m will work to ensure that you feel confident and excited about your purchase. Each project I take on is an opportunity to create something truly special, and I believe that’s what makes MapletheMan Charpente a choice you can trust.
